Party in the Park a great success!

Up to 500 people, young and old enjoyed the healthy lifestyle themed National Play Day event on Sunday co hosted by Waterford Comhairle na nOg and Waterford Sports Partnership in Walton Park, Dungarvan and supported by both Waterford City & County Council and the Department of Children and Youth Affairs.

National Play Day 2014

National Play Day takes place on Sunday 6th July - the focus of National Play Day is 'going out to play', where projects create opportunities for outdoor play at street, neighbourhood and community level.

National Recreation Week 2014

National Recreation Week takes place from 2nd to 8th June 2014. The focus of National Recreation Week is to give young people an opportunity to participate in new activities that they have not done before.

Food Olympics

Waterford Sports Partnership in association with Waterford County Comhairle Na nOg are running a 'Food Olympics' session for primary and secondary school age children on Saturday 12th April from 12pm to 1pm in Walton Park as part of their W...est Waterford Festival of Food "Picnic in the Park" event.

The 'Re-engaging Programme' is an initiative from Waterford Sports Partnership that supports young people in getting back into physical activity.The aim of the programme is to identify why young people drop out from physical activity or leave a sports club.

An Rith 2014

Waterford Sports Partnership in conjunction with the Irish office of Waterford County Council and Waterford County Comhairle na nOg delivered a week of activities to promote the Irish language and increase physical activity in schools.

Boxing Fitness Programme in Ballybeg

Well done to Ms Kelly's 5th/6th class pupils from St. Saviour's National School in Ballybeg who took part in a 6 week boxing fitness programme. This activity was facilitated by the very experienced Bartie Simpson of Saviour's Crystal Boxing Club

FAI Community Night League Waterford launched

On Tuesday 25th February the FAI Community Night League Waterford was launched for 13-15 year olds right across the Waterford region. This unique concept was originally launched in Dublin and has proved to be a huge success in the Inner City areas of the capital.

Well done to the twenty-nine participants from the Tramore 'Tramovers' Youth and Family Project, the Northern Suburbs 'Gracedieu Groovers' Community Youth Project and the Midway 'Marching Mad Yokes' Project on successfully completing the final week of the Waterford Youth Walkers Pedometer Challenge!

Waterford Youth Walkers Pedometer Challenge - Week 1

Week One of the Youth Walkers Pedometer Challenge 2013 kicked of last week with forty- three young people across five youth groups taking part in the four week step counting challenge run by Waterford Sports Partnership and funded by Waterford Leader Partnership.

Parkour for Teenage Boys in Waterford

Twenty two boys aged 13-17 years, took part in a six week Parkour programme. Parkour/Free Running is the art of moving through the environment, or over obstacles, as swiftly and effectively as possible using only the human body.
