WSP | Proud members of the 20 x 20 Campaign

Waterford Sports Partnership is proud to be a member of the 20 x 20 campaign, presented by the Federation of Irish Sport. The aim of the movement is to give increased profiling to girls and women involved in sport at all levels and to grow involvement in female sport and physical activity by 20% by the end of 2020.

Orienteering Teacher Training

Fifteen teachers from twelve different primary schools around Waterford City and County took part in our Orienteering Teacher Training last Friday October 5th at WIT Arena. This training was delivered by Mick Farrell from the Irish Orienteering Association.

Sports Capital Programme 2018 - OPENING FOR APPLICATIONS!

Applications for Sports Capital Grants Funding are being sought from sports clubs, voluntary and community groups, national governing bodies of sport and local authorities. Third level colleges, Education and Training Boards and schools may only apply for funding jointly with sports clubs.

This September we are piloting a brand new programme called Mum on the Move. The programme is aimed at mums who walk and would like to take up running. The programme is designed to get beginners from 0-5km in six weeks.

Women on the Move is a female only fitness programme that aims to increase physical activity levels, enhance fitness levels, and encourage participants to become more active, whilst also having fun and meeting others!

Transport, Tourism and Sport Minister, Shane Ross and the Minister with responsibility for Tourism and Sport, Brendan Griffin launched the Government's National Sports Policy 2018-2027 at the St Laurence O'Toole Recreation Centre, Sherriff Street, in Dublin's North Inner City on Wednesday 25th July.

Great turnout for Waterford Operation Transformtion Walks

On Saturday last, 13th January, RTE's Operation Transformation teamed up once again with Sport Ireland and Local Sports Partnerships to organise the Operation Transformation National Walks 2018. This year Waterford Sports Partnership was delighted to host three walks along the Waterford Greenway in Dungarvan, Kilmacthomas and Waterford.
