Great turnout for Operation Transformation Waterford Walk

For the firth year running, RTE's Operation Transformation teamed up with the Irish Sports Council and Local Sports Partnerships to organise the Operation Transformation National Walks. Waterford Sports Partnership was delighted that despite the cold weather, participants turned up in their masses to start their transformation.
The walk started at the Regional Sports Centre where 300 plus eager participants registered and then had the option of completing a 4km and 6km walk around the fabulous Kilbarry Nature Park. The walk was led by the four leaders from Erin’s Own/Sacred Heart Operation Transformation group, who encouraged all participants to join them on the long 6km route. It was fantastic to see a huge range of participants of all ages and abilities attend on the day. A special well done to the students and parents from St. Saviour’s N.S. who turned up in their droves.

Waterford Sports Partnership would like to say a big thank you to all our volunteers who gave up their time to support the event. Last but not least, well done to everyone that took part in the walk on Saturday, keep moving in 2015!

If you are interested in keeping your transformation going, why not join Erin’s Own/Sacred Heart OT group on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 7pm in the Williamstown Complex. They have led walks suitable for all ages, €2 per person pay as you go.
Come on Waterford, make this your year!!
