Walk Watetrford Next Walk on World Heart Day - All Welcome!

Waterford Sports Partnership was delighted to see such a great turnout for the first walk in the Walk Waterford Autumn Series, a series of five leisure walks across Waterford over the coming weeks.

On Sunday 22nd September twenty one leisure walkers undertook the well known Mahon Falls Walk in the Comeragh Mountains.  This 2.4km scenic route took the walkers into the heart of the Comeragh Mountains on an accessible path allowing everyone to enjoy the spectacular scenic views.
A special thank you must go to our volunteers on the day (Maria, Niamh, Deirdre and of course the two Catherine’s) who assisted WSP in leading this walk.

The next walk takes place on World Heart Day, Sunday 29th September in Kilbarry Nature Park, Waterford. The meeting point is the Kilbarry Park car park (via Kingfisher entrance) at 2pm. This is a lovely flat 1.8km (+ optional additional 1.8km) fully accessible walk. Participants will be spoilt for choice as the park offers a choice of walks along with many features and highlights such as amazing viewing points, picnic areas, distance markers and biodiversity information boards just to name a few.

All walkers will need suitable walking shoes (runners are ideal), warm clothing and a waterproof jacket. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

To find out more please contact; Pauline Cunningham, Sports Development Officer, Waterford Sports Partnership on 051 849855 /086 7837385.
