Developing the Socio-economic Potential of Waterways Conference

South Tipperary Sports Partnership is delighted to host, in partnership with South Tipperary County Council, this exciting conference on developing the socio-economic potential of waterway corridors.

This conference will feature a number of Speakers who will be focusing of topics relevant to sport in Ireland, and will include an address from John Treacy, CEO, Irish Sports Council.

Speakers with a particular emphasis on sport include:
• Chris Scott, Activity Tourism Manager, Outdoor Recreation Northern Ireland – “Developing Canoe Trails – Key to Success”.
• Anna Connor, Walking Officer, Mayo County Council – “Recreational Trails, An Integrated Approach”.
• Derek Higgins, BEng, MIEI, Engineer, Operations, Waterways Ireland – “Working Example – Grand Canal Green Route”.
• Dafydd Davis, Trails Consultant, Trails Wales – “The Power of Trails”
• Declan Byrne, Suir Valley Cycling – “Working Example – Suir Valley Cycling Festival”
